BEAR-Y IMPORTANT FACTS!

Scientific Name: Bearus Huggablelookingus Donttryitus

Diet: Salmon, berries, honey, pic-a-nic baskets

Habitat: Forests, mountains, Jellystone Park

Lifespan: 20-30 years of NOT wanting hugs

Did you know? Bears are NOT cuddly teddy bears come to life, no matter how much they look like oversized stuffed animals. This misconception has led to many regrettable decisions at national parks.

During hibernation, bears don't eat, drink, urinate, or defecate for up to 7 months. They basically invented "lying in bed all day" energy, except they're actually professionals at it.

FUN FACT: A bear's sense of smell is 7 times better than a bloodhound's. They can smell your fear. They can also smell your lunch. Mostly they care about your lunch.

SURVIVAL TIP: If you encounter a bear:
- Black bear: Make yourself big and loud
- Brown bear: Play dead
- Polar bear: You're dead anyway
- Teddy bear: Give it a hug
